Programme 2014

M. M. Gryshko National Botanical Garden

May 20 – July 10, 2014

The Second International Festival for contemporary sculpture in Eastern Europe will take place from May to July 2014. Kyiv Sculpture Project, which gained the attention of more than 600.000 people in 2012, will present the Main Project – works by young artists nominated for the International Sculpture Prize, and the Special Project – works of prominent contemporary sculptors. The Festival is designed to become a significant platform for the development of contemporary sculpture in Eastern Europe and to put Kyiv on the world map of public art.

The main focus of KSP 2014 is Art in the City. How does art interact with the city and its inhabitants? How can it change the attitude towards public space and form the new perception of urban environment? Ultimately, how can a work of art influence our everyday life? The Festival Kyiv Sculpture Project gives an opportunity for artists to offer their views on this subject by doing a practical research on post-Soviet city.
