The international festival for contemporary sculpture Kyiv Sculpture Project is rescheduled for 2015

Within two and a half months of the contest for participation in the Main Project of KSP 2014  the projects were submitted by more than 200 artists from 40 countries including Austria, Brazil, China, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, India, Poland, Portugal, Romania,  Switzerland, and South Africa. About a half of all the applications came from Ukraine.

The applications were assessed by the selection committee, which includes Helen Pheby PhD (Senior Curator of Yorkshire Sculpture Park and Curator of the KSP Special Project), Kateryna Taylor (curator of the Main Project at KSP, founder of Kadygrob_Taylor Platform for Contemporary Art), Olesya Ostovska-Lyuta (art manager, curator), Mikhail Reva (sculptor, architect, Merited Artist of Ukraine), Anton Belov (Director of Garage CCC, Moscow), and Vladimir Kadygrob (Director of Kyiv Sculpture Project, founder of Kadygrob_Taylor Platform for Contemporary Art).

Thus, the shortlisted international participants are Flavio Cerqueira (Brazil), Valerian Gagnaire (France), Pawel Kowzan (Poland), and Oscar Abraham (Venezuela/Netherlands).  Participants from Ukraine include the Open Group, Beata Korn, Sasha Kurmaz, Katya Libkind, and Viktor Sidakov.  


«We would like to thank all the artists who have submitted their applications, as well as project partners who have been supporting the preparation of the second international festival of contemporary sculpture.  We also wish to apologize to Kyiv citizens for not presenting the festival this year. We promise to do everything possible to create the top level event in 2015», the organisers of Kyiv Sculpture Project say.


In 2014 KSP team is preparing an educational project dedicated to public art and development of urban spaces. The detailed information will be announced later.
